New video explores Stravinsky-Balanchine ballets(December 2002) Music Dances: Balanchine choreographs Stravinsky is a new video celebrating the seminal 20th century collaboration between composer Igor Stravinsky and choreographer. George Balanchine. Featuring New York City Ballet, Dutch National Ballet and archival footage of Balanchine at work, the video is now available on sale to libraries, archives and educational bodies.
The major focus is on Agon, while other ballets include Apollo, Duo Concertant, Movements and the Divertimento from Le Baiser de la Fée. Conceived and written by Stephanie Jordan, the video is the result of a research project commissioned by the George Balanchine Foundation.
