Helmut Oehring has become member of the Academy of Arts in Berlin.
As announced on 16 June 2005 by the Academy of Arts in Berlin, Helmut Oehring has been elected into its music section. Born in Berlin in 1961, Oehring is therefore one of the Academy’s youngest members. At the same time, the performing arts section elected the well-known actor Ulrich Matthes, and the architectural section Volker Staab and Marta Schreieck.
The Berlin Academy of Arts is one of Germany's most prestigious artistic organisations, electing distinguished members to its ranks, and presenting exhibitions and events. In May the Academy of Arts reopened in a new building at its former location on Pariser Platz near the Brandenburg Gate, designed by German architects Günter Behnisch and Werner Durth.
